Septic Tank Tips - You can make it work better

Regularly inspect your system and pump as needed!

Most professionals say every three to five years.

There are a lot of ways to reduce pumping, but you cannot eliminate it.

Here are some great tips to reduce problems, and pumping:

    REMOVE YOUR GARBAGE DISPOSAL.

Large solid pieces of material do not degrade fast!

Large debris accumulation increases pumping 2-5 times.

    GREASE

Use a grease can and do not pour grease down the sink.

Minimizing grease makes the system work better.

USE WATER EFFICIENTLY!   REDUCE IF POSSIBLE

Use low water toilets - replace with high efficiency units.

Fix Faucets - water drips use a lot of water.

Fix Toilets - running toilets use a lot of water.

Use Faucet aerators - this will reduce water.
